Melissa Anne (Bertolini) Zalewski graduated from Warren Area High School, Warren, Pennsylvania (1987), who lived a life of love for the arts with a special gift as an accomplished ballet dancer and dance instructor. She was offered an opportunity to join the world-renowned New York City Rockettes but was unable to accept and continue her dream due to a medical condition. After leaving the world of dance, she was a homemaker who enjoyed being a mom and instilling in her four sons many life lessons and loves including creativity, expression, and opportunity within the arts. Following her unexpected passing in 2014, Melissa’s four sons established a memorial foundation in honor of their late mother to support those pursuing a life of dance and those living with epilepsy. The establishment of this foundation and a scholarship fund for dancers is the first of many promises kept in her honor.
